Things to consider when applying for CPD approval for your educational event:
The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland does not approve events which take place abroad. For more information, see the "Events in Other Countries" section on this page.
The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland does not give CPD accreditation for events specifically designed for General Practitioners, Medical Scientists or Nurses. For multidisciplinary events, organised are urged to seek the advice of the relevant organisations.
Events aimed at trainees (Specialist Registrars, SHO's etc.)
Some academic/scientific events are specifically aimed at trainees and therefore would not normally be considered eligible for CPD approval. However, if the organiser believes that such an activity would be of benefit to doctors participating in CPD, they should include a letter explaining this with the initial application.
