The College’s large archival collection is made up of material from two main sources.
Firstly, there are the records of the College itself, relating to its activities and functions, dating from the original Royal Charter of 1667 to the present. This collection includes minute books, correspondence and College Registers.
Secondly, the college holds material produced by others and deposited with the College for safe keeping. These include the papers of individual physicians, hospitals, medical and professional organisations, the papers of Irish medical historians, papers relating to the social history of medicine and papers relating to medical businesses.
A summary of all the archive collections can be found here.
