Hearts and Minds: Exploring the Cardiovascular Risk Burden in Psychiatric Disease
December 2nd & 3rd, 2005
This was the first major international meeting held in the College since it's re-opening in October 2005 and the first in the Masterclass series.
The topic was prompted by the realisation that while this is a serious health problem within society, it is not widely recognised and the management response is frequently ambivalent. The major concern is probably that patients already coping with a major disorder might be psychologically overwhelmed by the demands of lifestyle change which are integral components of the management of cardiovascular disease and its prevention.
This inaugural Masterclass took place over two days, including speakers from Belgium, UK and USA.
