BST Annual Reviews

The Basic Specialist Training (BST) Committee of The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) has identified the need to introduce annual reviews for SHOs on the BST programme.

The first round of annual reviews will be held in November 2009.

These 15-minute reviews are being introduced to ensure that trainees are progressing through the BST programme as expected and that they have been keeping their logbook updated. They will form a mandatory component of the BST programme – trainees will be required to attend their assessments in order to obtain BST accreditation for the year.

If you are an SHO registered on the BST programme, it will be your responsibility to ensure that you attend for your review.
Detailed instructions have been posted and emailed to all trainees currently registered on the BST programme. It is important that these instructions are followed carefully.

SHOs must ensure that they check their @physicians.ie email account regularly to ensure that they are kept up to date with any future changes or instructions.
