Elder Abuse: Recognition and Response will commence on Thursday 29 March 2012 from 2.00 - 6.00 pm, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, No. 6 Kildare Street, Dublin 2. 

Topics for this event will include:

• Definition, prevalence and types of elder abuse
• How to recognise the warning signs
• Law and Capacity
• How to assess an older patient, best/recommended practice
• How to deal with signs of elder abuse, who to contact, ‘Whistleblowing’
• Expert presentations on recent cases
