Fetal Echo Course

The Institute of Obstertrician & Gynaecologists, RCPI will be running a Fetal Echo Course on Friday 4th December 2009 in Carton House, Maynooth. 

This is a comprehensive course for those who do Fetal Ultrasound and wish to learn more about looking at the Fetal Heart. It will provide a complete overview of both normal and abnormal Fetal Cardiac Anatomy and will also cover the difficult management issues which can occur after a diagnosis of congenital heart disease.

HIGHLIGHTS

Dr. Andrew Cook, Director of Cardiac Anatomy in Great Ormond Street Hospital, will demonstrate the complex anatomy of the Fetal Heart using both structurally normal and abnormal specimens

Dr. Orla Franklin, Paedaitric Cardiologist in Our Lady's Children's Hospital, will demonstrate the techniques used to get complete views of Fetal Cardiac Anatomy including information on anatomical landmarks and pitfalls in Fetal Cardiac imaging in live scanning sessions.
