At 10:00 am on Tuesday 1 June 2010 at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), No 6 Kildare Street, Dublin 2, the RCPI will hold a press briefing for all medical and health journalists to coincide with the launch of the position paper titled Healthcare-associated infection (HCAI) in patients with cancer: Identify the risks and implement preventive measures. The press briefing will be attended by Prof. Hilary Humphreys, Chair of the RCPI Policy Group on HCAI and Professor of Clinical Microbiology at RCSI/Beaumont Hospital Dublin and Prof. Peter Daly, Consultant Medical Oncologist, formerly of St James’s Hospital and Trinity College, Dublin. Both will discuss the recommendations, outlined in the position paper, regarding the prevention and control of HCAI in patients with cancer.
