MRCPI Part II Medicine of Childhood - Change of Format

Current and prospective candidates of the above examination please take note of the following: 

 

 

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland is pleased to announce a change to the format of the Part II MRCPI Examination in Medicine of Childhood.

 

From April 2009 the Part II MRCPI Examination in Medicine of Childhood will be composed of two free-standing sections – a written examination consisting of two papers and a clinical examination, held on separate dates.  The oral examination will be discontinued.

 

The Part II MRCPI Written Examination in Medicine of Childhood must be passed before a candidate is eligible to sit the Part II MRCPI Clinical Examination in Medicine of Childhood.

 

Candidates who successfully pass the written section IN THE NEW FORMAT will be permitted a period of two years to pass the clinical section before being required to re-sit the written section.

 

The last combined Part II MRCPI Examination (written, oral and clinical) in Medicine of Childhood will be held in January/February 2009.

 

The proposed dates for the free-standing Part II MRCPI Written and Clinical Examinations in Medicine of Childhood for 2009 are as follows:-

 

                        WRITTEN:      Tuesday 21st April 2009

                        CLINICAL:      Tuesday 9th June 2009

                        WRITTEN:      Tuesday 21st July 2009

                        CLINICAL:      Tuesday 3rd November 2009

 

The Examination Fees will be as follows:-

 

Part II MRCPI Written Examination:-           €590

Part II MRCPI Clinical Examination:-          €730
