Are you entering your first SHO post in General Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Histopathology or Obstetrics and Gynaecology on 1st July 2008? If so, please note – registration on the General Professional Training (GPT) Programme is mandatory for accreditation of training. Credit cannot be given unless you first register for GPT.

Registration must be completed within one month of entering your first SHO post. For first year SHOs starting GPT on 1st July 2008, the deadline for registration is Thursday 31st July 2008.

To register please complete the GPT registration form and pay the annual training fee of €2,000 by Thursday 31st July 2008. The GPT registration form is downloadable at the bottom of this page.

Induction Days

It may interest you to note that GPT Induction Days will be held for first-year SHOs in General Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Histopathology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology on the following dates

Wednesday 9th July 2008 - University CollegeCork     1.00pm – 5.00pm

Tuesday 29th July 2008 - RCPI, 6 Kildare St, Dublin 2  1.00pm – 5.00pm

At the GPT Induction Days you will have the opportunity to attend seminars about the GPT Curriculum, Higher Specialist Training and the MRCPI examinations. You will also be able to collect your GPT Logbook.
