Basic Specialist Training & Higher Specialist Training

 

The Faculty of Paediatrics is recognised by the Irish Medical Council for the purpose of granting evidence of satisfactory completion of specialist training in the division of General Paediatrics in Ireland. The Faculty run a Basic Specialist Training Programme and a Higher Specialist Training programme.

Fixed Term Training Appointments

 

The Faculty also run a Fixed Term Training Appointments scheme. This training programme is designed by the Faculty of Paediatrics of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland to provide approved and supervised top-up training for those doctors who are not part of the Higher Medical Training Programme and who have not been successful in their application for, or require specified extra training for, entry onto the Register of Medical Specialists of the Medical Council of Ireland. Continuing Medical Education

 

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme service is intended for use by all of the following who are resident in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland and are Full Members in good standing of the Faculty of Paediatrics

Doctors residing in either the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland who are not Fellows or Members of the College and its Faculties / Institute and who wish to participate in a CME programme are welcome to do so, on payment of an annual subscription.
