More than 470,000 people in Ireland suffer from this increasingly common and often debilitating condition. Poor control and a widespread lack of understanding about causes, treatment and symptom prevention, continue to cause difficulties for those living with this condition.
This public meeting aimed to provide clear and concise information on the management, control and prevention of asthma as well as addressing the social and behavioural attitudes towards asthma today. It included discussion on the prevalence of asthma and the impact of the condition, the types of asthma, alarming growth rates in Ireland, how to reduce the risk, prevention and treatment and relief options available.
