The National Immunisation Advisory Committee was formed to serve the purpose of advising the Department of Health and Children in the area of immunisation procedures and related matters.

This committee prepared the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland with the assistance of an active committee from associated disciplines in Paediatrics, Infections Diseases, General Practice and Public Health.  The guide is designed to be simple and concise and does not claim to contain all information on any pharmacological material. It does, however, give current information and guidelines concerning immunisation. Vaccines are continually evolving and the guidelines are updated regularly.
