After achieving Membership, you may choose to become a Collegiate Member of RCPI.

Passing your membership exams and achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland is an internationally recognised benchmark of professional excellence which means you join a global network of over 12,000 doctors. When you pay your anual membership subscription, you gain access to the shared expertise within this community, you will also have your name listed in RCPI’s Members & Fellows Directory, and you can use the internationally recognised M.R.C.P.I. post-nominal.

Collegiate Members enjoy a range of exclusive Membership benefits from RCPI, such as free online journals from the world-renowned BMJ and the New England Journal of Medicine. Your College also supports your work by running regular free CPD webinars - continuing our vital work of educating and training doctors, as well as representing your voice on the future of medicine and influencing public health policy.

We're also delighted to offer as a benefit of your membership access to St. Luke's Symposium, our annual conference. Each year, we welcome hundreds of RCPI Members and Fellows to this event where they can network with colleagues and enjoy a variety of interesting, often humorous, talks from national and international experts and leaders.

Supporting your professional development

When you pay your Collegiate Membership subscription, you will gain access to free educational webinars and masterclasses from our Faculties and Institutes, including the extensive recordings of webinars in the RCPI Digital Library, Panopto (available by logging into our website).

As well as our annual conference, St. Luke's Symposium, members can also access masterclasses, webinars, online lectures and and scientific meetings which are held by our Faculties and Institutes throughout the year. These events support your lifelong learning as a doctor and help you to keep on top of the latest developments; as a member you can access a range of ongoing events from the Institute of Medicine, the Faculty of Paediatrics, the Faculty of Pathology, the Faculty of Public Health Medicine, the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and the Institute of Obstreticians & Gynaecologists.

VIP access to our historical home at No.6 Kildare Street

Nestled beside the National Library of Ireland on Dublin’s Kildare Street, No.6 has been the home of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland since 1864. Today, it is available to hire as a unique city-centre venue for weddings, corporate functions, social gatherings and gala dinners.

Thanks to its illustrious medical past, No.6 houses an eclectic collection of artefacts and antiques reflecting the antiquity of the College. The main rooms of the building remain much as they were in 1864 when the building was opened.

When you pay your Membership subscription you will enjoy privileged access to this historic building, including

  • 30% discount on room hire at No.6 Kildare Street
  • Free use of the Mary Hearn Room, a quite comfortable study and research area with desktop computers and WiFi
