Physician Wellbeing has been a high priority issue within RCPI for many years, as we know that doctors who enjoy good mental health and are ‘engaged’ achieve better patient outcomes. We have been providing support, training and information to doctors at all stages of their careers through our physician wellbeing programme since 2014.

To further develop and strengthen our physician wellbeing programme, we are now seeking to appoint a Director of Health and Wellbeing.

A new role in RCPI, the Director of Health and Wellbeing will be an experienced clincian responsible for overseeing initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of our Trainers and Trainees. They will develop a strategy for Health and Wellbeing in RCPI in close collaboration with the Head of Professional Affairs and Manager of Health and Wellbeing. They will be an advocate and spokesperson on behalf of RCPI to increase awareness of the importance of doctors’ wellbeing.

They will also provide oversight for all complex cases relating to the health and wellbeing of RCPI Trainees and work closely with our Deans and National Specialty Directors on decisions relating to health and wellbeing of individuals. 

Applicants must be Fellows in good standing.
