We are delighted to present a book of abstracts of projects undertaken in the Diploma in Leadership and Quality in Healthcare from 2016 - 2018.
The Diploma in Leadership and Quality in Healthcare was developed and launched in 2011 by the HSE and RCPI to support and develop clinical leaders to drive quality improvement across the health system.
We would like to thank all of the graduates from the Diploma for sharing their learning and allowing the publication of this book.
We are keen to share with the wider health system these important improvement initiatives in order to share the learning from them, to highlight the quality improvement methodology adopted and to acknowledge the leadership shown by those who carry them out. We hope that you enjoy reading about the body of work undertaken and find it useful. We would like to thank all of the graduates from the Diploma for sharing their learning and allowing the publication of this book.
Professor Conor O’KeaneDirector for Quality Improvement, RCPI
Launched in 2011, this hugely popular one-year diploma was jointly developed by the HSE and RCPI, a joint partnership to build quality improvement capacity and capability in the Irish healthcare system.
The Diploma in Leadership and Quality in Healthcare is a nine-month programme that teaches participants how to formulate and lead quality improvement initiatives in the workplace. It is designed for senior healthcare professionals and managers.
Through the practical application of tried and tested techniques, you will discover that improved outcomes are within your grasp and that quality improvement methodology, when applied to a healthcare setting, is a powerful force for good. Previous Diploma graduates have seen theory and methodology translate into tangible, measurable outcomes such as quicker access to care, fewer adverse events, cost savings, reduced length of stay and more prudent use of resources.
Victoria manages the Quality Improvement department and works on many of our Quality Improvement Programmes. Contact Victoria for more information on any of our healthcare quality improvement programmes.
