Applications have been closed for the 2011 SHO Matching Scheme
14/01/2011
Applications are currently being accepted for Senior House Officer rotation programmes commencing July 2011 in General Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Histopathology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The recruitment process (the ‘SHO Matching Scheme’) is coordinated by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland on behalf the relevant employers.

All rotation programmes have been approved for Basic Specialist Training (BST) by RCPI.

BST is a two-year postgraduate medical training programme which is offered (separately) in General Internal Medicine, Histopathology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or Paediatrics. Completion of Basic Specialist Training is an entry requirement for Higher Specialist Training in these specialties.

Interns who are considering postgraduate training in one of the above specialties are invited to apply. Doctors are eligible for entry to BST on satisfactory completion of their Intern year.

Current trainees on the BST programme who require a second one-year rotation are also invited to apply.

The closing date for applications is 5.00pm, Friday 14 January 2011.
