Elections 2026: RCPI President-Designate and Ordinary Councillors

Voting has now closed for the election of the RCPI President-Designate and four Ordinary Councillor positions on RCPI Council.
The ballot closed at 12 noon (GMT) on Friday, 3 July 2026.
Candidates
President-Designate
The following five Fellows have put themselves forward for election to the position of President-Designate:
- Prof. Áine Carroll
- Prof. Rónán Collins
- Prof. Mary Higgins
- Prof. Michael Keane
- Prof. Anthony O’Regan
Ordinary Councillors (Medicine)
The following four Fellows have put themselves forward for election to the three Ordinary Councillor (Medicine) positions:
- Dr Declan Byrne
- Dr Sean Fleming
- Prof. Derek O’Keeffe
- Dr Ash Tahilyani
Ordinary Councillors (Occupational Medicine)
The following Fellow has put himself forward for the one Ordinary Councillor (Occupational Medicine) position and is therefore deemed elected:
