An Inclusive Workplace

Creating an Inclusive Workplace

We are committed to fairness and inclusion throughout the employee experience – from recruitment and selection to development, progression and everyday working life.

Our recruitment and selection practices are designed to support fair and inclusive decision-making. These include inclusive job specifications, balanced interview panels and dedicated learning on unconscious bias and inclusive recruitment for those involved in recruitment and selection.

We recognise that people may require different supports to participate fully at work. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout recruitment and employment and encourage candidates and employees to let us know about any support they may need.

Our policies and people practices are designed to support a fair, respectful and inclusive workplace and are reviewed as our organisation and the needs of our people continue to evolve.

Supporting Trainers and Trainees

RCPI recognises that wellbeing is fundamental to effective learning, professional development and high-quality patient care.

As a postgraduate medical training body, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of trainees and trainers through our training environment, policies, professional supports and ongoing programme development.

We aim to ensure that our training pathways are supportive, accessible and responsive to the evolving needs of healthcare professionals throughout their careers.

Wellbeing at RCPI

Wellbeing is a core component of RCPI’s culture and strategic direction. Our commitment extends to staff, trainees and trainers, recognising that personal wellbeing, inclusion and professional fulfilment are important to achieving excellence in medical education, training and healthcare leadership.

Our employees have access to a range of wellbeing supports, alongside flexible ways of working, learning and development opportunities and activities that encourage connection and engagement.

Through our Wellbeing Committee, staff initiatives and engagement activities, we seek to create a healthy, supportive and inclusive environment where people can thrive personally and professionally.

Staff Wellbeing Committee

Our Staff Wellbeing Committee brings together representatives from across RCPI to help identify wellbeing priorities and develop initiatives that respond to the needs of our people.

Working with leadership and colleagues across the organisation, the Committee promotes awareness, connection and positive wellbeing practices and helps ensure that employee wellbeing remains a visible and sustained organisational priority.
