The first sitting of the European Diploma in HIV medicine took place on 25 September 2025, with candidates from 19 different countries taking the exam.
Awarded by the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) and delivered in partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), the European Diploma in HIV Medicine has been developed by expert Consultant Physicians in Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine. It reflects EACS’s commitment to advancing and harmonising clinical proficiency and professional development standards across HIV clinical care.
The Diploma provides clinicians and practitioners with an accessible and standardised platform to demonstrate their clinical knowledge in HIV medicine. Aligned with the EACS European Curriculum, the examination assesses candidates’ knowledge-based professional competencies through Single Best Answer (SBA) questions, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of HIV management expertise.
