Membership of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at RCPI lets you play an important role in the governance and future direction of your professional body. There are two levels of Memberships available with the Institute: Full Membership and Associate Membership. Details of both levels are available on this page.

Become a Member

Become a Member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at RCPI and you can promote and develop the specialty in Ireland by:

  • Acting in an advisory capacity to Government and statutory bodies
  • Acting as a vital source of information for media, the general public and other medical professionals
  • Developing and delivering postgraduate training programmes
  • Setting and standards in the MRCPI in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health
  • Developing and delivering Professional Competence Schemes

Once we're satisfied that you are eligible to apply for Membership, we will send you the necessary forms to complete.

Become an Associate Member

If you are in Higher Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you can become an Associate Member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and avail of the following benefits:

  • Free educational webinars and masterclasses from our Faculties and Institutes, including access to the extensive recordings of webinars in the RCPI Digital Library, Panopto (available by logging into our website)
  • Discount on your Professional Competence Scheme Enrolment Fee, if in Ireland

How to Apply for Associate Membership

To become an Associate Member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists you must:

  • Have passed the MRCPI examination in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent
  • Be in Higher Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Nominations to Associate Membership are made by submitting a Nomination to Associate Membership Form, which is available on request - simply contact us at the details below.
