A warm welcome to our newest Fellows

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) welcomed 43 new Fellows at a special admission ceremony on Thursday, 25 May 2023. The sun shone brightly on No. 6 Kildare Street as 27 Fellows were conferred in person at the ceremony and 16 Fellows were conferred in absentia.

The new Fellows were welcomed from all four corners of the globe including Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. They join RCPI’s growing network of 13,000 doctors in over 90 countries.

RCPI’s newest Fellows have each made a significant contribution to medicine and their respective specialties including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine, Histopathology, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Occupational Medicine, Paediatrics, Respiratory Medicine, and Rheumatology.

Speaking at the ceremony, RCPI President Prof Mary Horgan said:

“I want to extend a warm welcome to our new Fellows. Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland is our most prestigious category of membership. Having the letters FRCPI after your name demonstrates that you are leaders in Medicine in Ireland and beyond. What you do makes a difference to peoples’ lives every day.”
