In November 2025, Mariangela Esposito, Education Specialist, was shortlisted for the Employee of the Year award at the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards 2026.
The College's nomination recognised Mariangela's outstanding contribution to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), including her leadership on the EDI Committee, her role in RCPI's Pride participation, and her unwavering commitment to fostering a more inclusive culture across the organisation.
Her nomination attracted strong support from colleagues, who highlighted the energy, dedication and passion she brings to advancing wellbeing, inclusion, diversity and equity at RCPI. Mariangela's efforts have had a tangible impact across the College, and her recognition reflects not only her individual contribution but also the collective commitment of those driving EDI initiatives throughout RCPI.
Throughout the judging process and awards, Mariangela proudly represented the College, sharing RCPI's ongoing work to build a diverse, welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. While she did not take home the award, her achievement in reaching the final shortlist was celebrated across the organisation and helped shine a further spotlight on the important work of the EDI Committee.
