Meet the new Dean of RCPI Faculty of Pathology

On 13 February 2026 the Dean of RCPI Faculty of Pathology Mary Keogan handed over the Chain of Office to the new Dean, Dr Shari Srinivasan.

Dr Srinivasan is a Consultant Chemical Pathologist at Beaumont Hospital. She has been a member of the Faculty Board since 2020 and chair of the Chemical Pathology Standing Committee from 2020-2024.

She was the Chemical Pathology clinical advisor to the Laboratory Services Reform Programme from 2022 - 2025 and a member of its Clinical and Scientific Advisory Group. She was the faculty representative and contributor to the 2023 Standards for Quality Assurance in Colorectal Screening and a member of the Expert Advisory Group for the extension of the BowelScreen programme.

She is a current member of the National Serosurveillance Programme (NSP) Steering Committee.

"I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to take up the role of Dean,” says Dr Srinivasan. “The faculty has made great strides in the last 3 years under the guidance of Professor Keogan and I look forward to building on this during my term.

“It will be an honour to work alongside, and in collaboration with the other RCPI faculties and institutes and to represent my fellow pathologists."
