Royal College of Physicians of Ireland grows global community with 282 new members from 23 countries

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) proudly welcomed 282 new members representing 23 countries during its conferring ceremonies held at No. 6 Kildare Street on 10 and 11 September.

Membership of RCPI (MRCPI) is awarded upon successful completion of examination and it is an internationally recognised benchmark of excellence, highly valued by healthcare employers worldwide.

In his welcoming address, RCPI President Dr Diarmuid O’Shea encouraged the new members to carry forward their dedication and resilience throughout their medical careers:

“Your unwavering dedication, hard work, and resilience will serve you well over the years to come. These qualities are the foundations upon which excellence in medical practice is built.”

He also urged them to embrace their leadership roles with compassion and curiosity:

“You are the future leaders of healthcare delivery in Ireland and around the world. Embrace your role with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to improving patient care.”

Joining a global community of 15,000 doctors across 95 countries, these new members have our warmest congratulations and welcome.
