Royal College of Physicians of Ireland welcomes 12 Associate Members, Fellows, and Honorary Fellows

The Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland recently welcomed 12 Associate Members, Fellows, and Honorary Fellows. This prestigious ceremony took place at No. 6 Kildare Street on 1 March 2024, following the annual Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Spring Conference. 

The event also celebrated 17 individuals who received their Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) and two exceptional recipients of the Rory O’Connor Memorial Medal. 

The recipients of CSCST, Associate Membership, and Fellowship included:

Two prestigious Honorary Fellowships, the highest honour bestowed by the College, were awarded to Dr Howaida Khair and Prof Juan Diego Villegas-Echeverri, acknowledging their exceptional contributions to the field and their sustained excellence in medical practice and education. 

The ceremony also highlighted the accomplishments of Dr Luricke Potgieter and Dr Alice O'Neill, who were awarded the Rory O'Connor Medal. This medal is presented to the top-performing candidates in each sitting of the MRCPI examination in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, honouring the memory of Dr Rory O’Connor, a past Chair of the Institute and former National Specialty Director.
