International Training Growth
The RCPI International Residency Training Programme and International Clinical Fellowship Programme welcome sponsored doctors from the Gulf region to train in Ireland. During the 2025-2026 College year, 35 doctors from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain joined our international sponsored programmes to advance their training in medicine, paediatrics, pathology, and obstetrics and gynaecology. All places on the international sponsored programme are supernumerary. The International Medical Graduate Training Initiative (IMGTI) scholarship programme is available to doctors from Sudan and Pakistan, supported by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and Sudan Medical Specialization Board (SMSB), and the HSE. 53 doctors joined our scholarship programme, with 31 enrolled in General Internal Medicine, 14 in Paediatrics, and 8 in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Doctors gain valuable clinical expertise and skills across our international programmes, which they bring back to their home countries to strengthen and advance local healthcare systems.
