Advancing Education and Training
Throughout the year, the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland maintained its focus on delivering high-quality education and training. Progress was made on the implementation of the Simulation Strategy, development of new academic programmes and enhancement of continuing professional development opportunities. The integration of PCS/CPD governance within the Academic Board strengthened oversight and alignment across educational activities.
The College also continued to progress significant postgraduate training initiatives, including expansion of training capacity, support for less-than-full-time training pathways and advancement of Internal Medicine Training reform. These initiatives reflect the College's commitment to ensuring that postgraduate medical education remains relevant, responsive and aligned with the future needs of healthcare systems and society.
Quality enhancement activity also supported programme quality, governance, accreditation and continuous improvement across postgraduate training programmes.
