Driving Innovation and Organisational Transformation
Innovation and transformation remained central to the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland's strategic development. Significant progress was made through the Connect Programme, the College's major digital transformation initiative, which is laying the foundations for more integrated services and enhanced experiences for trainees, learners, members and fellows.
The College also strengthened data governance through the establishment of a Data Governance Committee and a structured programme of work to support data quality, reporting, digital transformation and future AI readiness.
The College strengthened trainer development through approval of a new Trainer CPD Pathway and continued to support trainers through professional development and wellbeing initiatives.
RCPI further established itself as a leader in responsible AI adoption within healthcare and medical education. During the year, the College established an AI Governance Committee, developed an AI Governance Framework, expanded AI literacy initiatives and launched the findings of its national clinician AI survey. Together, these achievements have strengthened the Colleges role in supporting and representing physicians' perspectives on the responsible adoption of AI in healthcare.
