Strengthening Leadership, Advocacy and Public Engagement

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland continued to strengthen clinical leadership and support doctors at all stages of their professional careers. Leadership development initiatives, consultant supports, regional engagement activities and patient partnership projects all progressed during the year, creating stronger opportunities for collaboration and professional development. The College also strengthened clinician engagement and governance arrangements, supporting greater consistency, visibility and collaboration across all activities.

Public Engagement continued to progress during the year following approval of the Public Engagement Strategy. RCPI expanded its advocacy, stakeholder engagement and communications activity across a range of healthcare issues. The College strengthened its profile through media engagement, public advocacy, policy engagement, and partnership activity, while the launch of the national clinician AI survey findings in partnership with EY generated significant engagement across the healthcare sector.

The year saw significant progress in advancing RCPI’s philanthropy, heritage and museum ambitions. The establishment of the College’s first Philanthropy function, alongside continued advancement of the medical museum project and an expanded remit encompassing Heritage, Facilities and Commercial activities, has strengthened organisational alignment and supported several key strategic priorities.
