Annual Report 2025-2026

Supporting our trainees, members and fellows

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland strengthened engagement with members, fellows and trainees across Ireland and internationally. The College expanded its international alumni network, strengthened global partnerships and continued to grow international training activity. New educational offerings, including the Professional Diploma in Healthcare Leadership and the Professional Diploma in Obesity Care, supported the development of healthcare professionals while creating new opportunities for lifelong learning. Trainee engagement was further strengthened through completion of the Learnovate trainee journey project, providing valuable insights to inform future service improvements.

Examinations also performed strongly throughout the year, with record examination income achieved and approval of new international examination centres, supporting future growth and international reach.

The College also continued to invest in its people and workplace culture through implementation of a new HR system, completion of the annual performance review cycle, delivery of staff wellbeing initiatives and progression towards Investors in Diversity Gold accreditation. These initiatives reinforce the College's commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive and high-performing workplace.
