Connecting and Informing
The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland communicates with its membership using a variety of channels to support time-poor doctors in easily accessing the information and opportunities essential for their professional growth and development.
Our website remains the trusted source of truth for doctors, constantly evolving in response to feedback, data insights and emerging needs. Email continues to be a favoured source of CPD information driving registrations for events and education courses, supporting medical registration compliance, and enhancing connections and affinity across our faculties and institutes. Growing numbers on social media reflect an active digital community with notable growth across all platforms.
Website
Our website, www.rcpi.ie, continues to be a vital resource for learners, trainees, members and fellows, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted source of knowledge and support. During the 2025–2026 College year, the website welcomed 654,112 visitors from more than 190 countries, representing a 22% increase on the previous year. This growth resulted in more than 2.1 million page views, over 60,000 searches and 141,000 downloads highlighting the growing demand for our curricula, handbooks, guidelines and position papers.
As we continue to evolve alongside the changing healthcare environments and the needs of our community, the RCPI website remains a central hub for digital engagement, offering up-to-date resources, support, and tools to enhance the experience of everyone who interacts with it.
Key developments this year included the creation of new digital content and dedicated webpages to support priority areas across the College. We launched a new webpage for Tobacco Free Future, alongside a dedicated page for the Inclusion Health Framework, and created a new page for society podcasts to make this content more accessible to our community.
We also continued to strengthen the website’s support for international and professional development. The International Training Programmes webpages were overhauled to improve navigation and provide easier access to frequently asked questions and programme information while new and updated content was developed for the CPD Accreditation Framework.
Accessibility remained a key focus with the development of RCPI-specific digital content accessibility guidelines and the delivery of accessibility training for website content editors across the College. These initiatives are helping to embed accessibility into the way we create and manage digital content, supporting a more inclusive online experience for everyone who uses the website.

RCPI launched an account with the microblogging social media platform Bluesky in July 2025.
