During the 2025–2026 College year, development and enhancement of a growing portfolio of continuous learning programmes focused on high-quality curriculum design, learner-centred online delivery, and alignment with healthcare workforce needs. Key developments included Advanced Acne Treatment in Primary Care, a short, practice-focused course designed to build confidence in acne therapy and isotretinoin prescribing; the Professional Diploma in Obesity Care, launched on World Obesity Day in March 2026; and the development and piloting of the Professional Diploma in Healthcare Leadership in partnership with Hibernia College.
The College supported the second cohort of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound programme, a high-demand and complex offering for Consultant Trainers that required the careful integration of clinical skills teaching, practical assessment, faculty expertise and online learning design to support safe, confident application in practice.
A continuous improvement model ensures the highest pedagogical standards across our certificates and diplomas, including Cancer Genetics and Genomics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, Paediatrics, Occupational Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Quality Improvement. This breadth of activity required sustained coordination across curriculum design, learner experience, academic quality and specialist subject-matter input, including the development of an additional Occupational Medicine module to prepare learners for the LFOM.
The college developed and delivered new short courses in leadership, person-centred care, and research, enhancing our flexible professional learning opportunities to compliment a growing suite of accredited programmes.
