RCPI Brightspace is here! Introducing our new e-learning environment

Brightspace is a cloud-based learning management system used by over 1,200 organisations globally

We are pleased to announce our new e-learning environment, RCPI Brightspace, is now up and running.

Brightspace is a cloud-based learning management system used extensively in the US and Canada for online and blended classroom learning. The technology is used by over 1,200 schools, colleges, universities, and businesses around the world, including University College Dublin (UCD) and Technological University Dublin (formerly DIT).

We chose Brightspace as the technology to support our virtual learning environment as it offers the following benefits:

  • Visually appealing design and easy to use by both lecturers and learners
  • Built for mobile
  • In-built video assignment tool and video feedback tool
  • Better access to reports and data to help us help you

RCPI Brightspace is where you'll find online courses and certificates

RCPI Brightspace replaces The Physician Network as our e-learning environment. It is where you will now go to complete our online courses and submit course assignments.

RCPI Brightspace is also where you will find your CPD certificates after attending a course or event in RCPI. You will need to wait until we confirm your attendance before your certificate can be downloaded. You will receive an email when your certificates for courses/events attended in person are ready to download.

Where to find RCPI Brightspace

You will have access to RCPI Brightspace when you book onto an RCPI course or event.

To open RCPI Brightspace simply log in to www.rcpi.ie with your username and password for our website and look for “RCPI Brightspace” under your digital services.

I’m delighted to announce the introduction of RCPI Brightspace - an initiative I have lead out on in response to the needs of our members. Brightspace allows easier access to our learning platform for all our Trainees, Members and Fellows. A large amount of work has been undertaken over the past few years to improve the RCPI website and associated digital services. Our core mission as a College is to support doctors’ training, education and continuous professional development, and with the launch of this new virtual learning environment, it will now be much easier to reach your full potential with RCPI. RCPI Brightspace allows us to expand what you can access now and in the future.

An improved course booking experience

In tandem with our new e-learning environment we have also launched a new and improved course booking website, which you can access by clicking on “Courses and Events” in our website navigation menu.

This new website for browsing and booking our courses, conferences, diplomas and events offers a better experience and is integrated with RCPI Brightspace. When you book a course, you will automatically get access to any relevant online educational resources in RCPI Brightspace.

Additional courses, conferences and events will be added throughout the year as they become available.

If you are looking for our examinations, all information and application forms can be found on our website here

We have taken our doctors’ feedback and preferences into account and have worked hard to tailor this widely-used learning technology to meet your needs. I hope you will agree that RCPI Brightspace offers a significant improvement to how we deliver online learning and certificates of attendance at courses and events.
