Course Overview

Quality Improvement in healthcare is a science that uses sophisticated tools and techniques to systematically introduce and embed changes to healthcare delivery.

A lot of the time, these changes are focused on improving a specific local service, such as reducing the average turnaround time in a hospital’s Emergency Department.

Although all improvement involves change, not all changes are improvement. An important aspect of quality improvement is the use of accurate and powerful measurement tools to make sure patient outcomes are improving as a result of the change.

Quality improvement methodology, when applied to a healthcare setting, is a powerful force for good.

Healthcare workers who have trained with us have seen theory and methodology translate into tangible, measurable outcomes such as quicker access to care, fewer adverse events, cost savings, reduced length of stay and more prudent use of resources.
