Coffee morning for RCPI Trainees who are parents

Free coffee morning on Wednesday 18 March 2020 at 11am

Join us for some nice treats, a chat, practical information and moral support!

The members of the RCPI Physician Health and Wellbeing Trainee Committee (which is led by Trainee doctors), would like to improve the experiences of doctors who are parents.

They would like to invite doctors who are parents, or are expecting a baby, to a free coffee morning in RCPI on Wednesday 18 March 2020 from 11am to 1pm.

This is a chance to chat to other doctors who are also juggling the demands of parenthood with postgraduate specialist training.

On the day we hope to:

  • Raise awareness of physician wellbeing in pregnancy and parenthood
  • Give parents an opportunity to share their advice and concerns about working as a doctor while pregnant or caring for a young child
  • Collect suggestions on how RCPI could support doctors as parents
  • Share ideas on how we can support each other - e.g. a Facebook group or virtual parent and baby group

There will be refreshments served, and of course babies and young children are very welcome!

The details for your diary are:

  • When: Wednesday 18 March 2020 from 11am to 1pm
  • Where: RCPI, No.6 Kildare Street, Winter Hall
  • Who: RCPI Trainees who are parents or expecting a baby

Will you join us? Please RSVP

Meet your organisers!

The Physician Health and Wellbeing group at RCPI is an active trainee-led initiative that aims to promote and encourage higher standards of health and wellbeing supports for all trainees on RCPI training programmes. They are a diverse group of trainees with representation from each of the six faculties and a mix of basic and higher specialist trainees.

This coffee morning has been organised by Doireann Eves (HST Paediatrics) and Siobhán Quirke (BST General Internal Medicine).
