RCPI publishes 2020/21 Annual Report

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) has published its 2020/21 Annual Report. The annual report reflects on the achievements of RCPI over the previous 12 months. The report also details RCPI’s vision for the future with the development of a new Strategic Plan 2021 -2024 which builds on core areas of focus for the College and provides a roadmap for the future.

Among the highlights of the 2020/21 Annual Report are:

  • Our community of Members and Fellows continues to grow with 380 new members and 127 new fellows conferred since July 2020 over ten virtual ceremonies
  • We welcomed Dr Anthony S. Fauci as an honorary fellow in a very special online conferral ceremony
  • We delivered over 276 workshops and tutorials and delivered over 2,000 CPD hours to more than 13,000 learners
  • 2020’s St Luke’s Symposium virtually welcomed in excess of 1,300 doctors over the three days of events
  • Remote invigilation, as a new exam delivery platform, transformed our ability to deliver exams against the constraints of social distancing.
  • Full recognition of our Membership exams by the General Medical Council in the UK
  • We received the greatest ever number of applications to our training programmes, with over 1,200 applications across 30 specialties.

The annual report also reflects on the achievements of each of our Faculties and Institutes, our history and heritage, governance and financial reports.

The 2020/21 Annual Report will be officially launched at the Annual Stated Meeting which takes place on Monday, 18 October 2021.
