This year's St Luke's Symposium takes place 18 - 21 October 2017 at No.6 Kildare Street, Dublin 2. Highlights of this year's symposium are listed below.

All events are free of charge for RCPI Trainees.

Members, Fellows and Licentiates who are up to date with their subscriptions can also attend free of charge.

National Education Day for Doctors in Training

Wednesday 18 October

A programme designed by Trainees for Trainees with a focus on Physician Health and Wellbeing. This event will include an interview with our President Designate Professor Mary Horgan, sessions on social media and medicine, wellbeing of hospital doctors, paperless medicine and healthcare informatics, vaccinations and a high-profile keynote speaker to be announced shortly.

Heritage Day

Thursday 19 October

Our Heritage Day will focus on Women in Medicine and will include talks on Ireland in 1667, the admission of women by RCPI, Dr Dorothy Stopford Rice and the introduction of the TB vaccination, and Dr James Barry - the Irishwoman who fooled the British army.

Public Meeting

Thursday 19 October

This year's public meeting, Ageing Well in the 21st Century, will be led by former Minister Mary O’Rourke and will include talks on mindfulness, men’s health, exercise and nutrition.

Advanced Masterclass

Friday 20 October

This Masterclass will look at recent advances that have impacted on hypertension, suicide, paediatrics, integrated care, ICT in medicine, social inclusion and much more.

Medicine in Changing Times

Saturday 21 October

This year’s sessions will consider challenges and opportunities in healthcare delivery framed in the context of RCPI’s Towards 2026 report.

Fellowship Admission Ceremony and St Luke’s Gala Dinner

Saturday 21 October

Invitations from the President will be issued shortly.

Registration opens on 21 August

Online registration for St Luke's Symposium 2017 will open on Monday 21 August 2017.

All Trainees, Members, Licentiates and Fellows will be notified as soon as registration is opened.
