Speaking about this trip Prof Mary Horgan said,
“Six months ago I visited UAE for one of our Clinical Exams. I was asked to return and host an event here to meet with you, to hear more about you and what you are doing, how we can support you and how you can help us in what we are doing. We are here because we want to build a stronger connection with you – our Members and Fellows. This is the first step in strengthening our relationship with you.”
She talked about how pleased she is that the College is celebrating 10 years of offering its Membership exam in UAE.
“We held our first MRCPI exam in Dubai 10 years ago and Dubai and Abu Dhabi are now the biggest centres for our exams with 500 candidates a year. We also have the largest number of RCPI examiners here.”
The President outlined how integral international Members and Fellows and Examiner are to the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and expressed the College’s continued commitment to strengthening its network within the region. She also outlined plans to set up a new advisory panel in UAE to continue this mission.
